5 Simple Success Tips that Work

by Kurt Schmitt

Here are 5 success tips that are not only powerful, but also easy to understand and simple to implement. You can use these ideas to accelerate success in your work, life and business.

1. Get rid of the clutter — The consumer oriented society we live in offers a product that promises to repair or enhance almost anything. You can buy tips for success on how to improve your golf game, your business bottom line, or how to get out of debt.

A side effect of this consumer oriented society is that we end up with a lot of products that either doesn’t perform as expected, or we never use.

We have exercise equipment that promised to make us thin, but we never use; movies that we bought on DVD, but never watch. We own bikes we never ride, and books we never read.

Too much junk clogs up our lives. We need to do a spring cleaning, both inside and out, and get rid of the clutter so we have room for new things.

Doing this spring cleaning exercise allows us to have fewer, but more powerful thoughts. It also allows us to become more focused and more effective in our actions.

2. Let success come to you — Many of us have a grandiose notion of what success means to us. Numerous failures and the pressures of life often cause us to eventually abandon our dreams and settle for being less than all we can be. Stop chasing success and looking for the big score. In order to prevent overwhelm, envision in your mind what it is you want, and then break down the steps into tasks that are easy to do.

3. Create daily habits — Replace bad habits with good ones. Choose 10 things that inspire you and create habits around those things.

4. Complete your work faster — For most of us, no matter how long we have to complete a task, it seems we like to put things off until the last minute. This rarely stops us, however, from completing our work on time.

If you can complete a project in 3 hours instead of 3 days, then complete it in the first 3 hours. Then use the remaining time to reward yourself and do something that inspires you. Spend time giving to others, or work on personal goals or your part-time business.

5. Determine your outcome and know what you want — Decide. Decide on what you want. Decide to commit to your decisions, to take action, to follow through, and decide to accept the consequences of your actions.

Add each of these success tips to your life, one per month for the next 5 months. You’ll see an improvement in your productivity and your results in a short time.

You Can End Panic Attacks

by Charles T. Winnbaker

Some who suffer from panic disorder may wonder if it’s possible to ever end panic attacks once and for all. They may have suffered for so long with panic that it has become part of their everyday routine, and some have a hard time picturing their life without such attacks. But it is possible to end panic attacks once and for all, with some help and with the proper tools.

In order to actually end panic attacks it’s important to first of all acknowledge what they are. Some who suffer from panic hate to admit to themselves what they are as they may assume that these attacks show some type of weakness of character or lack of willpower. They may have been raised in a household where emotional disorders are treated as a weakness or they themselves just have that opinion. But you can’t end panic attacks if you refuse to acknowledge that this is what’s happening to you

Some have found that medication is very helpful to end panic attacks; mild tranquilizers or antidepressants can be used to keep emotions on an even keel. Many doctors also recommend a course of behavior therapy, either with medications or separately in order to end panic attacks. With behavior therapy, a person can learn how to talk themselves out of a difficult situation when they feel a panic attack coming on. For instance, they can be taught to remind themselves that what they’re feeling is panic and that there’s not really anything wrong or dangerous happening at the moment.

This can help to end panic attacks for those who have them in certain circumstances, such as during meetings or religious services. These types of circumstances or events can make a person feel trapped and claustrophobic, resulting in panic. By learning how to reassure yourself the same way a friend or colleague would reassure you that there’s nothing wrong, the patient or sufferer can then take steps to end panic attacks on their own. Often both medication and this type of therapy are the most effective means of treating panic disorder.

Those who are hesitant to use medication or therapy as a means to end panic attacks should consider the fact that it can be done, and should picture their life without panic - and that should be motivation enough to get the help needed from one’s doctor or physician!

Father, Son, Holy Mackerel - Chapter 2

by Dr’s Bil & Cher Holton

My wife’s fishing expeditions can be counted on ONE FINGER! And it was not with her dad, from whom she inherited her lack of fishing interest! It was with her maternal grandfather. He was a carpenter by trade, and in addition to the house that her mother still lives in, he also created his own fishing boat. My wife decided one summer that she would enjoy going fishing with him. But her idea of going fishing was to take along the transistor radio (remember those?) and crank the music up loud! As you can imagine, that trip didn’t go too well! Her grandfather claimed the music would scare away the fish ~ and Cher was adamant that it would attract them! Needless to say, Cher lost that battle, and lived through one of the most boring afternoons in her memory! Luckily, she has tons more happy memories of times with her grandfather!

We both get much more excited about fishing for Divine Ideas and we know we have access to an abundance of Divine Ideas! There is NO problem that does not have a solution if we approach it the right way. But too often, we are similar to the disciples in John 21:1-6. who fished like crazy - yet came up empty. What does it take to connect with Divine substance which holds everything we need? For the disciples, it took a net, thrown on the right side of the boat. Here’s a spiritual net designed to catch such an abundance of Divine Ideas that you will just have to exclaim, “Holy Mackerel!”

N = Narrow your focus

How often do we get a great idea, and then proceed to talk ourselves out of it because of all the ridiculous issues we allow ourselves to get distracted by? Here’s an analogy: Whenever I watch basketball, I continue to be impressed at how the majority of these professionals can perform so well at the foul line, with the fans for the opposing team waving their arms, cheering and jeering, making all kinds of disruptive commotion. How do they do it? They narrow their focus. Larry Bird, winner of an incredible number of foul shooting titles, said it best, in his book, Drive: The Story of My Life. He said, “You’ve got to concentrate every time. When I go to the line, I am always thinking, ‘All net. No rim or anything else. Just all net!’” That’s narrowing your focus. You only see what is critical, what relates to your successful achievement. Everything else just disappears from your radar!

The best technique to narrow your focus is to spend some time at Headquarters. This should be your initial response to any overwhelming problem. When you receive some bad news, or run into a difficult situation, or find yourself staring head-on at a problem that looks like an insurmountable mountain, and you experience the tension building, the worries starting, the imagination going wild — just stop! Take a few deep breaths, and then go somewhere where you can spend at least 15 minutes in the Silence. I literally say (yes, out loud), “Okay God” (I’m talking to my indwelling Spirit), “This is yours! My human self cannot see any solutions, but I will not allow this situation to have power over me. I let go of my hold on it, and give it over to you for divine solutions.” Then I go into the Silence. Without exception, I come out of that experience with new ideas. They may seem weird or impractical, but I jot them down and give them thought. And if I don’t have ideas, I simply affirm that Divine Ideas are flowing to me, and I release all worry about this issue. Believe me, the ideas do start flowing!

E = Expect Solutions

One of the neatest things about Truth principles is that we don’t wish we’ll get results - we KNOW! And knowing what we know, we must approach our fishing excursions from that state of expectancy! When you expect something, you set your intention ~ and things just start showing up!

T=Take action!

The John 21:1-6 story shares that in order for the disciples to pull in that record-setting load of fish, they had to do something! Jesus didn’t just snap his fingers and cause the fish to appear. He told them what to do and even though they were a little skeptical (we’ve fished all night right in this area and haven’t had a bite!), they followed His direction, and experienced outrageous success! You can discuss Divine Ideas all day long ~ but to see results, you must take action.

Divine Ideas are constantly flowing to us! But we often get so tied up in the busyness of paralysis of analysis and dealing with the interruptions from the world of appearance, that we completely miss the Ideas! When you find yourself feeling depleted, and no ideas seem to be coming, it’s time for you to remember the NET formula.

Fish from the right side of the boat by going to Headquarters, then Narrow your focus, Expect solutions, and Take action! It really represents the Trinity: We go into the Silence and narrow our focus by becoming one with Divine Mind ~ that’s the Father; with our state of expectancy, we receive an idea ~ that’s the Son; and then we take action, which is the expression of those Divine Ideas ~ that’s the Holy Spirit. And then we take a step back and see what we’ve created, and we just have to exclaim: “Holy Mackerel!

Get Back With Your Ex: The First Steps

by Marc Sandford

The dreaded day has finally arrived, your ex and you have broken up. What should you do now? This article will lay out the next crucial steps to take right after the breakup.

1.) The very first item for you to deal with is panic and stress. Your efforts at getting your ex back will be counter productive if you are stressed out. Don’t bring up your ex’s faults with your friends.

This does nothing but reinforce your bad feelings. It will also generate discomfort and embarrassment among your friends. Unless they are very knowledgeable in relationship issues, their suggestions won’t be that useful.

2.) This problem isn’t going to repair itself. You will have to put forth the effort to change things for the better. A cool head will be needed to do this.

Your first instinct after the breakup will be to patch things up as fast as possible. There is no quick fix to relationship problems. As a matter of fact, you should let things cool off for about a month.

It’s also good if the breakup happened in a mature and non threatening way. Time is required to reflect and to get things into perspective. It’s important to understand the reasons behind the breakup before you try to contact her.

3.) Be friends with her. It’s not the easiest thing to do with someone you’ve recently broken up with but it sets you up well for future contact with her. The status of your relationship is defined by what happened during your last contact. This last contact forms the basis of her recent memories about you.

Do the fun things with her that you did back in the beginning, before you had sex. This will serve to remind her of the good side of your relationship. She will understand that she’ll be giving this fun aspect up if she leaves you.

4.) Be careful of alcohol. It will mess up your judgement. It’s very common for a person late at night after a few drinks to think that it’s a good idea to wake up their ex with a phone call.

No one wants to be woken up late at night with a phone call. This is especially the case if it’s their ex calling. The alcohol will make the situation a lot worse because it will diminish your better sense and things will be said that you’ll later regret.

5.) Get away from the house and enjoy yourself. Easier said than done, I know, but it’s a great form of therapy. It’s time to dust off old friendships and to make some new ones too. There’s no better remedy for driving away the blues of separation than enjoying life again.

Is Your Erector Qualified?

by Houston Reid

Hiring the most qualified erector to assemble your prefab steel building is a key decision that will affect the overall success of your building project. Many different problems for your steel building project may be the fault of an incompetent steel building erector. The most obvious potential problem is, of course, incorrectly erecting the building.

You have to contact with someone who is trained and practiced in the type of building you are having assembled. Not every steel building system may be included in an erector’s experience. Think about the following guidelines when you will have to choose an erector. If you are unfamiliar with steel building construction, then there are qualified steel building consultants who can help you in finding a professional erector.

No one wants an erector who has done poor work in the past. Then it’s up to you to analyze their past workmanship. See that you look at an older as well as a more recent project. Investigating their prior work can reveal a lot, particularly any red flags that you may want to avoid.

Did they fix all concerns with these projects? A good erector will have done so. It is very important to find out if the erector is certified by a professional steel building supplier to erect your type of building and to verify if he and his crew have recently attended training sessions to update their various skills.

There is a valuable need to have someone oversee the project and serve as a liaison with everybody else at the job site. This is the duty of the project superintendent. Remember to keep this in mind, as well. Do not make it a practice to just blindly go with the lowest bidder for a project. Low bids sometimes are red flags of poor performance.

The most costly erector could have originally been the least expensive. A copy of an OSHA-approved safety program has got to be presented by the erector you are thinking about. Weekly on-site safety meetings have got to be held and the erector must be current on all safety requirements.

Choosing an erector is an important step in the procedure of gathering all the necessary pieces in order to begin construction. Yet, it is only the start and there are further needs to address. Don’t allow any changes in design. Thus, it?s important that you have the original drawings on site. As we said before, make sure there will be a full-time, on-site superintendent to take charge of all these day-to-day responsibilities at the worksite and handle any problems that may occur during building. Having the best men on the job will ensure that your building is off to a good start and on its way to a successful completion.

Lastly, you should scrutinize the work regularly and make sure that the appropriate tools and equipment are being used, that temporary bracing is being used constantly throughout the worksite, that design bracing requirements are implemented for the permanent bracing, and that the appearance will not be “out-of-plane.” The instructions and erection drawings must be accessible and on-hand for the job. So as to make certain that these job-site drawings are thorough, you must have a professional consultant take a close look at everything. These guidelines will help you toward a timely completion of your new building and years and years of satisfactory use of your new steel building.

This article has clearly been a brief overview and is not intended to thoroughly cover the topic. We have only hit on the key ideas. Most likely we have only raised more questions than we have answered. Therefore, if you do have more questions (as we imagine you do) then we recommend that you call a reputable company. I’m sure they’ll be more than happy to answer your questions and probably offer you a great deal on a new building!
