The Differences between Hanging and Pop-Up Displays

by Amy Nutt

The type of display you use for your trade show booth is something that is going to make a difference in how you do business. The idea is to stand out and be unique amongst the rest, so you must figure out which kind of display is going to be the one to fit you best. Two of the displays you may find that you have to choose from are hanging displays and pop-up displays. Each may look the same as each other, but the truth is that they are very different. It is important that you know those differences so that you can make an informed decision regarding which you should use.

Hanging displays

Hanging displays are rather true to their name. They actually hang over top of your trade show booth. They also make for a great attention grabber because they can be seen from far distances. You don’t have to have one of those booths that aren’t seen until the individual is standing right upon it. They can see it from across the way and make a beeline for your booth.

The downfall is that these work best at trade shows that are conducted within an arena or a convention center. That way the trade show booth owner has a ceiling to hang the display from. If the show is outside, then there is nothing to hang it from unless you build an incredibly tall pole that allows you to hang the display. It is then that you’re putting your display up against such elements as wind and rain. You would also have to transport the pole and building such a contraption could prove to be expensive because you would have to somehow make it compact for transport. That might be why you never see hanging displays at outside trade shows.

Pop-up displays

Pop-up displays are different from hanging displays in that they don’t hang. They come in a number of sizes and materials. Display assembly is quite easy because the frame is built to simply pop-up. An example of a unique pop-up is one that is 20 feet long and 8 feet high. It sits on the ground and actually has a wave shape to it. This makes it unique compared to pop-ups that may be one simple curve and sits upon a tabletop. However, tabletop pop-up displays are also great to showcase items you may have. You can also place lighting above the pop-up to enhance your display. Any type of lighting is going to make a difference and pop-up displays allow for that.

Another great thing about pop-up displays is the fact that they can be used both indoors and outdoors. That way you don’t have to fret if your next trade show is going to be outside. You can still use your pop-up display to bring attention to your booth.

Maximizing your presence

You can maximize your trade show displays by using one or both of these display types. If you’re having an indoor trade show, you can use your hanging display and your pop-up display. If you find you’re going to be outside, then you can just use your pop-up display. Both are very effective in bringing a crowd to your booth and you’ll find that you’ll earn a return on your investment because of the ability of these tools to attract a crowd to your booth. Just remember that you have to spend money to make money and that purchasing the right trade show displays is one of those instances. Just make sure you look around and see how much more business you are achieving against those who do not employ any type of display.

Affordable Car Insurance For The First Time Buyer

by Amy Nutt

You’ve just bought your first new car and now you need to get car insurance for that vehicle. You?re not sure what to do and you want to make sure you get the most affordable rate. You don?t want your lack of knowledge to cause you to have to pay more for your car insurance than what you have to; especially since you need to put very expensive fuel in that car to keep it running.

Fortunately, lack of knowledge doesn’t have to get in your way. There are some basic things you should know about buying car insurance for the first time. They are not difficult and you?ll find that the difference between knowing these things and not knowing these things means more money you can keep in your pocket or use to put fuel in your car. It doesn’t matter how you choose to use that money. What matters is that you?re not unnecessarily paying it on a car insurance premium.

How much you need

Chances are you have financed this car and the lender requires you to have full coverage insurance. This covers everything from bodily injury to collision in case you are in an auto accident with that car. Although the lender requires full coverage, you can have different degrees of coverage based on what you can afford.

For example:

- You can choose to go with a policy that has a $500 deductible. What this means is that this is the amount you have to pay to repair your car in case you are in a collision with someone or some thing. If the bill to fix the car is $3,000. The insurance will pay the remaining $2,500 after you have paid your $500 deductible.

That seems easy enough, doesn’t it? It is pretty simple. However, it is important for you to determine how much you can afford in regards to your deductible. You can actually save money on your premium each month if you can afford a higher deductible in case of an accident. The higher the deductible, the cheaper the premium, but you don?t want to go beyond what you can afford.

How to save

Once you’ve determined how much you need, this is the point in which you can work on saving money. You need to first comparison shop by checking with the different providers to see what types of premiums they have for the amount of coverage you need. You also need to ask them what is covered under the insurance, what the limitations are, when the coverage begins and ends, how much coverage you get, and how you file a claim.

Once you find good prospects, you can then ask them what types of car insurance discounts they offer. If you are a college student, they may offer a discount. They may even offer an additional discount for good grades. You can also do such things as open a life insurance policy with them to get a multi-line discount.

If you’re ever in doubt, contact your state?s department of insurance and ask them tips regarding how you can save on car insurance. They will gladly give you that information. You may even want to talk with the insurance providers regarding a discount if you allow them to automatically deduct your premium from your bank account each month. You have many different areas to compare and many discounts and policy alterations that can work to your advantage. Use them and see how much money you can save. You may actually be surprised how much money you can have in your pocket versus how much could possibly go into your insurance premium.

How to Remove Pet Odor From The Carpet

by Amy Nutt

If you have dogs, you know how that unpleasant odor can stick to carpets. It’s not that you don’t love your dogs, you can love them and not the smell! Wet dog odors are particularly stubborn and tend to get right into carpet fibers. Then they release that nasty smell all the time and turn your home into a “dog” house.

Fortunately, you don’t have to live with that smell in your carpets. Carpet tends to pick up nasty odors far easier than any hard floor surface in your home, and it also stores them easier. With a hard surface, you can simply use a detergent that also eliminates odors, but with carpet, you’ll need to put in a bit more elbow grease.

Odor Prevention

The first thing to keep in mind is that prevention is far easier than fixing the problem after the fact. There are several ways to prevent dog odor from seeping into your carpets in the first place.

- Keep dogs away from carpeted rooms. Not always practical, but very effective. - Vacuum regularly. This keeps odors from really settling. - Deal with any mess (urine, feces or vomit) immediately and spot clean the area with a deodorizing detergent. - Dry your dog completely with a towel after coming in from a bath or rain. - Use a special fiber sealant on the carpet to help protect it from absorbing odors.

However, the absolute best way to avoid pet odors is to keep your dog odor free. Bathe your dog frequently and keep him nice and clean. This will definitely help, but to really deal with the problem, you’ll want to make sure that you actually remove the odors from your dog. There are shampoos formulated especially for pets that will help prevent bacterial growth that causes those unpleasant smells.

Removing Odors

Once you have the dog odor in your carpet, even some heavy duty vacuuming won’t help matters. You’ll need something a bit stronger to get the odors that are actually deep in the carpet fibers. These are the smells that are more difficult to remove.

For short pile carpets, baking soda might be the easiest solution. Simply sprinkle a heavy layer of baking soda over the entire carpet and let it sit for two or three hours. Overnight is even better. You can then vacuum it up. The baking soda will have absorbed the smells embedded in the carpet and by vacuuming it up, you get rid of them. However, some odors are so strong that they require more than one application.

If you aren’t up to waiting and sprinkling baking powder, it might be better to just rent a steam cleaner. This will suck the bad smells and dirt right out of the carpet. It’s also a good option for longer carpets where dirt and hair and dandruff tend to get trapped. The steam cleaner will get rid of just about everything and you’ll be amazed at how clean your floor is afterwards. While you have it, run the steam cleaner over your sofa, as well and get any lingering odors out of the upholstery, too.

Owning dogs doesn’t mean you have to put up with a house that stinks. Keeping your dogs clean and ensuring that any messes are immediately cleaned with a deodorizing cleaner will help keep those odors at bay. And, for the times when things do pile up, a steam cleaner or baking soda will get your house smelling fresh and clean again, without using any nasty chemicals on your carpets.

Most skin care lines do one or the other, but Jurlique combines tasks in their creams, meaning you get more for your money.

9. For anyone who wants their facial products to be good enough to eat . . . Jurlique offers yummy natural ingredients like honey, mint and chamomile, among other healthy types. These are all great for your skin and all natural.

It`s important to put products you trust on your skin. When it comes to treating problems like wrinkles and blemishes, it`s definitely not a good idea to be using lotions full of damaging chemicals that may only aggravate the issue. Opt for natural and organic and you`ll find that your skin does far better.

Car Insurance: Differences between Canadian and U.S.

by Amy Nutt

l car insurance is the same, right? Wrong. Anyone from the United States moving to Canada or moving from Canada to the United States will find that car insurance in both countries is different. It may be hard to fathom how there can be variations in car insurance since there seems to be enough stipulations with car insurance the way it is but, being that the two countries are different, there are differences to be aware of.

Canadian car insurance basics

Let’s say you’re a U.S. Citizen moving to Canada. You know that in the United States you have an insurance card. In Canada, you do receive something similar that goes by a different name. It is called your Canadian Inter-Province Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance Card, or your “pink card.” As far as how you use the card and carry it, it works the same in both countries, such as for showing proof of insurance upon request and using it in case of an accident.

However, the way injury claims are handled can vary based on the province. A good example of this is the fact that Quebec car insurance requires that injury claims are taken care of by a government program, rather than a private insurer. If the accident or the injury due to an accident takes place outside of Quebec, then that is when the private insurer takes care of the claim.

The Canadian government requires that private insurers within the territories and provinces have a standard set of terms and conditions available with the policy. This means that all terms and conditions will be consistent between all of the insurance companies. After this point, the provincial and territorial governments then set additional standards and what they decide to be the lowest limits available for liability coverage on the vehicle.

Another difference you will find between U.S. car insurance and Canadian car insurance is that Canadians do not receive printed policies when the insured is covered under a government insurer. The vehicle registration is actually proof of that insurance since the registration to the car cannot be drawn up without some kind of insurance being placed upon the vehicle.

U.S. Car Insurance Basics

Where Canada requires drivers to be insured by either a private insurer or a government insurer, the United States is chalk full of private insurers that are regulated by their respective states. It is required in most states than an individual carry at least some degree of liability insurance. Liability covers bodily injury liability. Many individuals who do not have liens on their vehicles will carry liability insurance because it is more cost effective than full coverage. Full coverage is required when there is a lien on the car. This usually means that the car is owned by a bank, such as when a person has acquired the car through financing and has not yet paid the car off.

Something else in the U.S. that is different than in Canada is that the Canadian Provinces of Manitoba, Quebec, and Saskatchewan do not allow an individual to sue for pain and suffering when a motor vehicle accident has occurred. The only way to do this is if any permanent disfigurement has occurred, severe disability, very severe mental or psychological damage, or death.

Similarities

Nevertheless, there are similarities between the insurance of both countries and that is the fact that there are many different deductibles and price ranges available. That means each person has their own policy that they carry that can be different than everyone else?s in terms of the rate, the deductible, and the coverage. Most importantly, both of these car insurance systems work to ensure the insured are taken care of.
