How To Grow Herbs Indoors

There is not much of a difference of growing herbs indoors or outdoors. Many herbs that thrive outside will do fine inside if taken care of correctly so learning how to grow an indoor herb garden is not that difficult. Chives thrive in pots, but the garden is where they truly excel. They will soak up heat and then sprout up to one foot or more, putting out lovely purple flowers. They do quite well bunched together and will last years, wintering just fine in colder climates. Clip their leaves near the base rather than farther up.

An example for an herb that can be grown inside the house is Parsley. If grown outside it lasts for a season but if kept in a pot it can keep going for more time. Does Your Truck Need an Exhaust System?

Truck owners love how powerful their vehicles are. Trucks need lots of power because they’re designed to haul and tow heavy loads without difficulty. However, many truck manufacturers use fairly quiet exhaust systems on their vehicles, despite their powerful engines. If you want your truck to sound as powerful as you know it is, or if you’re aiming to reduce the constrictions on the exhaust, then consider adding to or altering your truck’s exhaust system.

Fortunately, the factory exhaust system is efficient and doesn’t require much modification for you to improve it. The first component in your exhaust system is the exhaust manifold, the part that directs exhaust from individual cylinders into one or two main exhaust pipes. Most exhaust manifolds are pretty efficient and don’t require replacement, but if you decide you’d like to replace this part, then you’re going to look at a set of headers. A good set of headers will offer a ceramic coating, as well as factory mounting points for sensors. Again, most of the time the factory exhaust manifold is just fine.

After the manifold, exhaust travels through the catalytic converters. These are already very efficient and legally required to be on your truck, so you’re much better off leaving these alone. The only time you’d do really do anything with the factory catalytic converter is if you were adding an extremely powerful upgrade to your engine, such as a turbo- or supercharger.

The exhaust gases cool a bit as they enter the muffler after going through the catalytic converters. This part of the factory system is usually also perfectly fine, and won’t be too restrictive. Replacing the mufflers will probably only result in a small torque gain of 5-10 ft-lbs, and a hp gain of 3-5 hp. Using after market mufflers, however, will make a great change in how your truck sounds. It’ll add an exciting roar that easily justifies the cost of the muffler. The exhaust exits the truck out of the tailpipe after the mufflers. Truck owners often like to add tailpipe tips, but these are strictly ornamental, and serve no functional purpose.

Changing the factory muffler on your truck for an after market muffler will make the biggest change to your exhaust system, so it’s the obvious move to make. Here are some things to consider about after market mufflers:

First, ask yourself if you really want to be hearing the exhaust ALL the time. If you do, make sure to take that into account when selecting your muffler. If you’d prefer not to hear the muffler in the background as you’re driving down the highway, choose a muffler that’s not described as loud. You can look online or at your local muffler shop for more help on finding the perfect muffler. There are even sound clips on many muffler manufacturers’ websites now so you can hear what your muffler will sound like before you buy.

Second, do you want something that people can slightly hear when you drive by, or do you want something so loud that the neighbors know exactly what time you leave for work every morning? Words like “racing” or “glasspack” usually indicate exceptionally loud mufflers, so watch out for those terms unless you want a lot of attention.

Choosing between a single or dual exhaust muffler is another important decision you’ll have to make. If your truck came with a single exhaust, then a single after market exhaust will be enough to keep good performance. If you prefer to get a dual exhaust, be prepared to spend more money in exchange for better sound and look. Make sure your installer works around your trailer hitch, or leaves room for one, just in case you decide to add one later.

Your final decision is which exhaust material system you’ll use. The right material for you will depend on where you’re located geographically. If it’s anywhere near a saltwater body, buy stainless steel. It may cost more, but stainless steel will be a wise investment since the saltwater in your environment is harsh on regular galvanized or aluminized steel. Drivers in dry climates won’t really benefit from the extra cost of stainless steel, since it’ll take years for rust damage to occur if it gets into the system.

IVF vs. Tubal Reversal - Factors to Consider in Making a Choice

Getting your tubes tied is considered permanent. But what happens if you are one of the thousands of women who changes her mind every year? Your doctor would most likely say in vitro fertilization or IVF is your only answer. What he might not tell you, or might not even know is available, is to get a tubal ligation reversal. He will use a needle to capture the eggs that your body has been overstimulated to produce. Seems like you are to be around a lot of needles.

Once the eggs are withdrawn from your body, they will be fertilized and left to develop for some time in the lab after they reach the correct maturity. One reason they overstimulated your body to produce more eggs is so more than one can be put back into your body after fertilization. You will most likely get two or three. The rest will generally be frozen and can be used if this cycle does not produce a viable pregnancy. Oh, yes, and you get more injections.

Will all this be successful? That depends on several things which can include something as “simple” as how careful your doctor is and whether or not he rushed the implant procedure and if he put the embryo in a good place. At any rate, you will need more injections now to help sustain things and make your chances better. With all these shots, you should be aware that there are some dangers not only to you but to your child as well, if you should be lucky enough to carry to term. Look around the web to see what the potential dangers are from IVF.

So what are your chances of a success on any one cycle of IVF? The figures vary depending upon such things as how many eggs were implanted, but the most common figures seem to be a 10% to 30% chance of pregnancy.

You will need to learn more about IVF in order to make the best decision but you can see that a tubal reversal surgery just might be a better choice. Actually most will only give you the industry wide statistics because they don’t collect their own nor know them.
